Controversial Summer Shoes That You Can Either Love or - Hate!

When we get gussied up, footwear seems to be an afterthought; somehow, keeping the look together instead of being THE look. But this summer, footwear is holding its own party. And, it is the star. You can’t ignore this somewhat controversial footwear that you’ll either love or hate. From metallic loafers with a reptilian bent to platforms that feature fringes that say “Yee-ha!” footwear explores its wild side!
- I’m going to play fence-sitter on this look for a long time. But there may be a few ladies who can pull this shoe look off. It’s just not going to be me.
- Loafers aren’t really my style. But if you’re a tall “Miss” with endless legs, this shoe style will highlight your long gams and slim ankles.
- I’d have never thought platform wedges with fringes would ever go together. But this shoe wears it with flamboyance. This isn’t your coy little wedge for your cute summery dresses. These are your wedges with rock attitude! Something that can be worn at Coachella!
- Think “Wizard of Oz” but far more glam! Dorothy would surely have to hobble up the yellow brick road in these platform heels after her long journey, but her heels won’t go unnoticed by the Wizard. That’s for sure!
- These stilettoes speak to me of Andalucia with its sultry heat, and sangria. Think: passionate flamenco and a furiously strummed flamenco guitar. Ole! And flick of a wrist.
- These blinged-out pair of tuxedo shoes will certainly get noticed even before your outfit. This gold stud infested footwear is certainly an acquired taste, a case of something you’re dubious about growing on you, the more you see it every day. But, if you have the personality to match this pair of tuxedo shoes, we don’t see why you can’t wear them with sleek leggings.
- These color block platform flats seem to channel the look of candy. Candy (?), you say? It’s saccharine sweet, light on the eyes, and has a fluffy detail. This look IS definitely for a girly girl whose teeth aren’t set on edge by extreme sweetness. Summer frocks in solid candy colors seem to be the best bet to go with this piece of sugar shock.
- These are heels to die for! The delicate nude shade made more magical by discreet glittery details lights up a fairy-like mood. You’d best wear soft, gossamer things in delicate shades with this number. Traipse lightly like a fairy in ultra-glam fairy heels!
- This black and white number with clean stripes is an ultra-chic look that goes well with sleek silhouettes, and a wide-brim hat. In fact, it’s just the pair to wear to the Royal Ascot! Go hobnobbing with the well-heeled in these stylish heels. Pun intended.
- How do you combine something sweet and beribboned with something fiercely feline? Why, in a pair of platform heels of course! Opposites attract in this pink feline confection that looks so deliciously attractive in its unpredictability.

It takes a certain intelligence to understand what trends and style would suit your fashion identity. And fashion identity is achieved only by someone who knows herself well. If we go by the Socratic principle that values knowing yourself, then we can say that a woman who dresses well and appropriately for her age and any occasion has her head firmly on her shoulders.
