It’s almost the end of July, and before you know it, fall would have turned the air nippy, and the leaves a golden color. That signals a wardrobe change! And for any lady, wardrobe changes can be exciting and nerve-wracking! You’ve gotten so used to putting on your summer gear that it’ll take you some time to steel yourself for fall fashion. Before you’re all over the place trying to create a fall look that’ll reflect your personality, why not bone up on fall fashion essentials that’ll take you through the season with a little mix and match, and wardrobe additions here and there?
- A cozy coat will keep the chill away as your body readjusts itself to the nippy air. To maximize your new coat’s use throughout fall, choose something slick, tailored, and timeless. It would help if you check on what colors permeate your wardrobe so you have a coat that matches most of it. But it would be wise to have coats in basic colors, or non-colors. Black, white, tan, and grey are colors that will match almost any fashion item in your closet. Just to indulge your whimsical side, you can allow yourself a dark horse of a coat. Perhaps, something a bit Bohemian or femme fatale-ish?
This classic Max Mara coat in camel is easy to wear and has classic lines that will survive the fashion seasons if you pack it up carefully to avoid mold and discoloration.

The elegant wide collar gives it a vaguely tailored look that will go with most everything in your wardrobe. From the feminine to the sleek and sophisticated, this coat will be worth its weight in gold.

Multi-functional get-ups that can be snazzed up with a few accessories and a dash of lipstick or eyeliner will make sure that you don’t simply head straight home after work. After all, all work and no play makes you very dull indeed.
The shaping and draping of this pinstriped tailored dress by Donna Karan is clean and immaculate. Despite the front slit which is somehow sexy in a chic way, the whole demeanor of the dress doesn’t distract from the fact that it has a professional air about it. What’s good about this design which incorporates some youthfulness is; changing its office attitude can be as simple as letting you hair down and swiping on some red lipstick.

It is modest enough to be worn to the office, and the brilliant pop of color livens up a sallow complexion on an overcast day. More importantly, as moods plunge in tune with the cooler season, red revs up your mood so you don’t descend into cold weather lethargy.

What’s more, if you’re running to that popular bar where you and your colleagues unwind and dish before heading home, you don’t want to be taking little steps because you’re teetering around in platform heels. C. Louboutin’s classic black pumps with pointed toe and red soles have enough of a curve to give it that sexy vibe, and a hint of toe cleavage that’s considered quite attractive.

Earthy colors, black, and white will still be around for more classic color palettes, but it’ll definitely get more playful as we go deeper into fall. So, why not create an idea board of what you’d like your fall fashion to look like this early? That way, you can do more organized shopping, or simply augment your old fall wardrobe with some trendy accents, like a flirty skirt, for example.

It takes a certain intelligence to understand what trends and style would suit your fashion identity. And fashion identity is achieved only by someone who knows herself well. If we go by the Socratic principle that values knowing yourself, then we can say that a woman who dresses well and appropriately for her age and any occasion has her head firmly on her shoulders.
