Not all are blessed with long lashes, but natural looking doll eyes can be achieved by wearing false eyelashes or “falsies.” There are actually tons of brands, styles and even colors to choose from, however, for day wear, it is best to opt for natural looking lashes. I’ve tried Andrea Face Q’s Modlash Starter Kit in number 53. It brightens your peepers without looking fake since it is made of 100% sterile human hair.

Choose from a myriad of brands in the market and go for the one that suits you. Ardellis, is one brand that offers thin to thick lashes, just take your pick. There’s also Shu Uemura, but they are more known for their dramatic lashes. In fact, their Tokyo Lash Bar is to die for.

1. Set of Falsies – you can source the internet and look for sites that sell 10 pairs or more per box, and usually these are made of synthetic light weight materials, the reason why they are a lot cheaper than those made of human hair. When you’ve got better eyelash application skills, you can buy the more expensive ones.

You have the option of choosing between the dark tone and the clear tone. You can buy the glue separately, but there are kits with free adhesive. Basically, this glues your falsies to your lash line and makes sure they stay put throughout the day.

Now, on to applying the lashes, take note of the following steps:
1. Choose your preferred eyelash; place it over your eye. Since some falsies tend to have longer strips, you can cut it to perfectly fit your eye shape.
2. Apply the adhesive or glue, just a small amount will do. Don’t put the falsies right on after application; instead wait for 10 to 20 seconds or until the glue gets stickier before you place it over your real lashes. Don’t forget to use the eyelash applicator or tweezers.
3. Wait for it to dry, now apply liquid eyeliner to set the look. In that way, the glue and the strip of lash won’t be noticeable.
4. Finally, apply mascara on top of the falsies to add more drama and to make it look more natural. This will allow for blending of the fake and real lash.
5. If you want to add more drama and create doll-like eyes, you can put on circle lens in your preferred size and color.
