One-night stands, as the name suggests, means going to bed with a guy you just met, and then go your separate ways when the sun comes up. No feelings, no attachments. Just the physical pleasure of sex.

Some women think that one-nigh stands are immoral; believing that that sex should only happen within the context of a relationship between two people who are in love.

Many however, are open to the idea; especially women who are not ready for a serious relationship but want a sexy turn in bed. If you are among these women, just keep in mind a couple of important things:

Be Safe

Going to bed with a guy you do not know presents several health risks. Who knows if the guy has (or had) a sexually transmitted disease or HIV? You can ask, but it could get awkward and effectively kill the mood. Also, there’s no telling whether the guy will give you an honest answer so it is best to just be safe.

Aside from possible exposure to health risks, you could also get knocked up if you do not practice protected sex. If you are not ready to be a mother, tell him to put a hat on.

Condoms are very cheap and readily available at most drug and convenience stores. If the guy does not have one (and he should) you could easily pick up a stash on the way.

His Place or Yours?
Unless you live with your parents or a roommate, doing the dirty deed at your place presents several advantages. For one, you would naturally be more comfortable at your place; therefore, you will have more uninhibited sex there. Also, you won’t have to deal with dirty laundry, stinky socks, rotting leftovers and usual stuff you can find at a guy’s place that could ruin the mood.

Doing it at your place also means you won’t have to deal with the walk of shame the next morning when you say your awkward goodbyes. And if the mood goes south, you can simply slam the door shut in the guy’s face and not have to worry about getting home. Also, it saves you the trouble of having to drive or commute back home the next morning with smeared makeup, messy hair and feeling like you left a piece of your dignity somewhere between the club and his place. You do not have to put yourself through that.

Another benefit of doing it at your place is that you will have the advantage of being familiar with the area if he turns out to be an offender. You would know how to escape, where to get something to arm yourself or call for help.

Should You Stay the Night?

Staying all night depends on you. If you both feel like going to sleep in the arms of another person, by all means spend the night. If you don’t feel like it however, leave after the doing the deed. One advantage of spending the night though is that you could both wake up in the middle of the night and decide to have another round.
Handling the Morning After

The morning after does not have to be that awkward. You are both mature adults who both know what you are getting into the night before. Ease any awkwardness with humor and lightheartedness.

Regrets

You will not have any regrets if you know what you want and know what you are getting into. If you are not sure if casual sex is what you want do not go through with the deed.
