If one looks at the fashion landscape for 2012, two blasts from the pasts are making their fashion presence felt. That would be the loud and colorful 80’s and the dark and rebellious 90’s. Why they’re coming back as a fashion tandem is probably something to think about. What’s obvious is; 2012 seems to be the year of fashion comebacks! And what’s even more exciting is trendsetters don’t identify with just one look, so on the streets and in every school when the school year starts, we can expect a fashionable explosion of 80’s and 90’s looks a la “Pretty in Pink,” “Clueless,” and “Reality Bites.”
- Molly Ringwald in “Pretty in Pink” wears something typically 80’s: large blazer over a button down white shirt over which she wears a vest. A snazzy bowler hat with embellishments tops off the cute ensemble.

It seems that if you want to get with the fashion these days, you’d only have to watch these iconic movies to come up with your own 80’s 0r 90’s fashion style. The stars aren’t wasting any minute to enjoy this fashion trip down movie memory lane. Stars born before or after these movies have taken up the trend quite readily.

It takes a certain intelligence to understand what trends and style would suit your fashion identity. And fashion identity is achieved only by someone who knows herself well. If we go by the Socratic principle that values knowing yourself, then we can say that a woman who dresses well and appropriately for her age and any occasion has her head firmly on her shoulders.
